Joel Klatt Warns College Football About Potential Return of Historic Powerhouse

    By Max Escarpio,

There's nothing like a student section roaring in unison with season ticket holders and first-time viewers in a college football stadium. One of the most historic programs in college football, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, recently backed up that statement with video proof.

The Cornhuskers welcomed the Colorado Buffaloes in Week 2, taking down Deion Sanders and company in dominant fashion. They picked up a massive 28-10 victory, moving to 2-0 on the season.

During the game, Nebraska fans turned the stadium into a festival rave. Fans put their flashlights in the air and cheered on the Cornhuskers as they were taking it to the Buffaloes.

After viewing the video, college football analyst Joel Klatt believes fans aren't ready for the return of Nebraska football. He seems to think it's going to get even rowdier if the Cornhuskers can "get this thing going."

"I don't think people are ready for Nebraska to be Nebraska again," Klatt said. "Played there twice...If they actually get this thing going.........Laawwwd!!!!!!"

The Cornhuskers have played solid football on both sides of the ball throughout the past two weeks.

Nebraska pounded UTEP 40-7 in Week 1 and then welcomed the hyped-up Buffaloes in Week 2, sending them home with their first loss of the season.

They'll be able to establish themselves in the 2024-25 season since the Cornhuskers' first four games of the year will be played at home.

Their first true test comes on Sept. 28 when they travel to face the Purdue Boilermakers.

The hype in Lincoln revolves around true freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola.

In his first-ever collegiate game against UTEP, Raiola produced two touchdowns and 238 yards, while completing 70.4% of his pass attempts.

In the following matchup in Week 2, Raiola had another solid showing with one touchdown and 185 yards, completing 76.7% of his attempts.

Raiola came into the mix as the No. 2 quarterback out of the 2023 recruiting class . He was formerly committed to the Georgia Bulldogs but flipped his commitment to play for Matt Rhule and his staff.

As long as Rhule and Raiola stick together, the Cornhuskers should be a dangerous team, and Joel Klatt doesn't think the college football world is ready for their return.
