NFL fans left in stitches after Jason Kelce asks for a ‘safe space’ on air to avoid ESPN cohosts’ ridicule

JASON Kelce is just beginning his career as an NFL broadcaster, and fans already love what he has to offer.

After starting the show by messing up his wardrobe, Kelce ‘s comedic contributions to Monday Night Countdown kept flowing.

Ryan Clark discussed players going to the Super Bowl and never returning, a sore subject for Kelce that he got a good laugh out of.

“There is no team in the history of football that has lost the Super Bowl and didn’t walk off the field saying ‘we will be back,'” Clark said.

“When you lose that game, you feel like you know what it takes to get there.

“You feel like the only reason you didn’t come home with a ring is because you didn’t execute at the level you were supposed to, and you 100 percent feel in your heart that you will be back there again.

“Now the thing is, it don’t always work out like that. Aaron Rodgers is on this field, he beat us in the Super Bowl and never went back.”

While Clark made his statement, Scott Van Pelt and Marcus Spears both pointed at Kelce.

Kelce notably made the Super Bowl in 2023 where he played against his brother Travis and lost.

Of course, he only played one more season and didn’t return to the big game before retiring .

“Why are you pointing at me?” Kelce said.

“You’re up here! You’re up here JK,” Spears replied.

“We criticize them now, I’m safe. Safe space,” Kelce said.

The comment sent his cohosts into fits of laughter after he asked them to go easy on him.

Fans got a good kick out of the segment too, and shared their laughs on social media.

“Stop picking on Jason lol,” one fan said.

'It was a short retirement!'

Jason Kelce didn't stay retired in the NFL for long.

The former Philadelphia Eagles lineman called it quits after the 2023 season.

But he will be part of ESPN’s coverage on Monday Night Football in 2024.

Kelce will appear on Monday Night Countdown from 6pm-8pm ET every week as well as during the halftime show.

“Turns out, it was a short retirement!” he joked.

“ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports.

“To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment.

“And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football.”

“SAFE SPACE Jason u crack me up,” another fan said.

“Leave my man @JasonKelce alone. It’s his first night!” a third fan said.

“The fact that he’s just being himself and not trying to do be the standard prim and proper analyst especially on his very first appearance shows he’s gonna be really good,” a fourth fan said.

“Holy s*** he’s gonna go legend in the booth,” a fifth fan said.
