Newly released bodycam footage shows the moment wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by Miami-Dade Police ahead of the Miami Dolphins ’ 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars .

On Sunday, Hill was pulled over and detained outside of Hard Rock Stadium at around 10:18 a.m. Video released and shared on social media shows several officers approaching his car and immediately identifying the 30-year-old, but tensions begin to boil over when he attempts to roll up his window.

After asking Hill several times to keep his window down, one officer declared: “Keep your window down or I’m gonna get you out of the car. As a matter of fact, get out of the car.” Another official promptly came over and whipped open the door before pulling him out of the vehicle by the back of his neck.

Upon being dragged to the ground and placed in handcuffs, Hill informed his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, over the phone that he was actively being arrested. “When we tell you to do something, you do it. You understand?” an officer asked while standing over the NFL star, who replied: “Take me to jail, bruh, do what you gotta do.”

Moments later, Hill was escorted to the sidewalk and asked to sit down but momentarily refused, revealing that he recently underwent surgery on his knee. The same officer that pulled him out of the car subsequently wrapped an arm around him and forcefully took him down, adding: “Did you have surgery on your ears when we told you to put your window down?”

Dolphins defensive tackle Calais Campbell rushed to Hill’s aid to see why he was being arrested, approaching the scene with his hands up. Tight end Jonnu Smith additionally pulled his car over up ahead, but was promptly asked by police to leave and later hand over his license.

In another statement from Steadman Stahl, President of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, Hill was accused of being “uncooperative” after being pulled over.

"Upon being stopped, Mr. Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on scene who, pursuant to policy and for their immediate safety, placed Mr. Hill in handcuffs," it read. "Mr. Hill, still uncooperative, refused to sit on the ground and was therefore redirected to the ground."
