Kiana James’ WWE Status Confirmed Following Her Removal From The Active Roster

WWE fans were shocked on Monday afternoon when it was reported that Kiana James, who had only been called up to Raw earlier this year, was no longer listed as active on the company’s internal roster. Instead, the 27-year-old had been transferred to the “misc” list leaving fans wondering if she had a future with WWE.

However, following much speculation on social media, PWInsider.com has now confirmed that she is still with the company but is currently sidelined for the next six months due to a leg injury.

James, real name Kayla Klingensmith, broke into the business in 2021 with records indicating her first official match was actually for AEW on a Dark taping. In this, the rookie wrestler would compete under the name Xtina Kay and put over The Bunny in a short match. From there, she continued to work enhancement matches for the promotion against names like Riho and Julia Hart. Yet it would be WWE that signed her to a full-time contract, and just two months after wrestling her final AEW match, she would make her NXT television debut against Sarray.
