Although we're only two weeks into the 2024 college football season, Texas' early on-field success appears to be trickling over to the recruiting trail.

Shortly after Texas' dominant 31-12 victory over then-ranked No. 10 Michigan in Week 2, the Longhorns added four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles to its 2025 recruiting class. Charles initially committed to Florida State in June.

Texas and Florida State began the season on completely different paths.

The Seminoles suffered back-to-back losses to begin the season, likely opening the recruitments of several verbal commitments in Florida State's 2025 class. On the other hand, Texas put together two impressive performances and look to have the makings of a national championship.

With the addition of Charles, Texas' 2025 class is now ranked No. 6 in the nation according to 247Sports. The group is headlined by five-star safety Jonah Williams and five-star wide receivers Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench.

Charles is ranked the No. 17 defensive lineman in the country by 247Sports composite and the No. 22 overall prospect in Florida. In 2023, the Port Charlotte product recorded 29 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and two pass breakups.

The future of Texas' football program looks bright in every aspect.
