Noah Syndergaard is eager to return to Major League Baseball, specifically with the New York Mets. After a promising start to his career with the Mets in 2015, injuries and a reluctance to adapt his pitching style hindered his progress.

In a recent interview, Syndergaard expressed his desire to come back to New York, citing his love for the city and its passionate fan base. He believes he still has much to contribute to the game.

"I would love to come home to New York," Syndergaard said. "Hopefully, that's in store for me. I love the fan base. I love the city. I love the culture, the history, the passion. It's the best place to play."

Originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010, Syndergaard was traded to the Mets after two years in the minors. He made his MLB debut on May 12, 2015, against the Chicago Cubs, where he pitched five scoreless innings before allowing a two-run homer in the sixth. Despite the loss, he quickly became a key player for the Mets, helping them reach the World Series that year.

Syndergaard's performance in 2015 was notable, as he finished with a 3.24 ERA and 166 strikeouts, earning fourth place in the Rookie of the Year voting. He continued to impress in 2016, becoming the first pitcher since 2007 to hit two home runs in a single game and earning an All-Star selection, although he had to withdraw due to arm fatigue.

Injuries plagued Syndergaard in the following seasons, including Tommy John surgery in 2020. He signed a one-year, $21 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels in 2022 but did not complete the season there. Over the next two years, he played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Dodgers, and Cleveland Guardians.

As of now, Syndergaard has not pitched in the majors or minors since his last game with Cleveland in 2023. His hope is to make a comeback, ideally with the Mets, where he feels he belongs.
