Sami Zayn Challenges Gunther To World Heavyweight Title Match On 9/9 WWE RAW

Sami Zayn is tired of waiting, and wants a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther now.

During tonight’s episode of WWE RAW , Bret Hart arrived to the ring to a loud roar from the crowd. After talking for a bit, however, Hart was quickly interrupted by Gunther, who came down to the ring and said he felt like this is a “passing of the torch” moment for he and his hero, Hart. Gunther said that Hart was the best there ever was, but that Gunther’s actual favorite, Bill Goldberg, will always be better.

Soon after, Zayn’s music hit and the superstar came down to greet Hart and confront Gunther. Zayn took Gunther to task for what he deems was disrespecting Hart, before asking why he ran away from Zayn last week. Zayn said that if Gunther really thinks he’s the best in the world, he should prove it by giving him a title match.

Gunther then shocked the WWE Universe by telling Hart that he isn’t in Gunther’s league. This set the crowd off to boo him constantly, before he told Zayn he wouldn’t be giving him a title match. As Gunther left, Hart called him a “yellow coward,” to which Gunther quickly reacted to. He took his jacket off but was interrupted by Zayn, who ambushed him with a series of punches before the officials stopped things.
