NFL Power Rankings Week 2: Chargers leap into top territory following win over Raiders

There may be no more interesting talking point during the NFL season than power rankings, even if ultimately, they mean nothing.

It's an opinion, but it shows where at least one person feels your team stacks up with the rest of the NFL. After a 12-point win over the Raiders in Week 1, the Los Angeles Chargers have managed to crack the top 10 in the first release of the season of Vinnie Iyer's power rankings .

This victory over the lowly Raiders (who Iyer has at No. 30) did not vault the Chargers into the top 10. But it is indicative that the team has high expectations and was expected to be good before the start of the season.

That can be directly tied to one man... Jim Harbaugh.

The Chargers are going to lean on their rushing attack and play stout defense the way an old-school football team would. That is how Harbaugh builds a winner, and he's well on his way to doing it in Los Angeles.

Chargers have a chance to get off to a strong start

The Chargers play the Carolina Panthers next week (No. 32 in the power rankings) before facing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3. There is a great chance for the team to climb even higher in these rankings.

There is plenty to be excited about right now if you're a Chargers fan.
