Arkansas Wide Receiver Suspended For Week 3 Matchup

Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman announced during his Monday press conference that wide receiver Dazmin James will be suspended for their Week 3 matchup against the UAB Blazers.

Pittman's reasoning for the suspension was due to a "violation of team rules" by James and added that the receiver would be back for Week 4.

James, a redshirt freshman for the Hogs, has yet to play an offensive snap so far this season but did see some action on special teams in the program's season-opening win against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Given his apparent lack of offensive impact, his absence should not hinder Arkansas' game plan this weekend against UAB outside of a hit to the receiver corps depth.

James signed with Arkansas in 2023 as a three-star prospect out of Clayton (NC) High School. The receiver caught 43 passes for 601 yards and five touchdowns as a high school senior.

With his collegiate career still early in its development, perhaps James can slot himself in the Razorbacks offense later down the road. With this suspension, James will be eligible to return for the Arkansas conference opener against the Auburn Tigers on Sept. 21 from Jordan-Hare Stadium.

As for this weekend, James will need to suffer the consequences of whatever rules he violated as the Razorbacks play UAB at 4:15 p.m. ET on Sept. 14 from Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
