A new Grocery Outlet is set to open at San Francisco's NorthPoint Centre, filling the vacancy left by Safeway’s closure last year. The announcement, made in a Monday press release by Supervisor Aaron Peskin, brings hope to local residents in the Fisherman’s Wharf and North Beach neighborhoods, who have been without a major grocery store for months.

Located at 320 Bay St., the new Grocery Outlet will offer affordable grocery options to an area known for its tourist attractions but also home to a strong residential community. The departure of Safeway in 2023 left a large hole in the neighborhood’s grocery landscape and at the NorthPoint Centre, which has been struggling with vacancies.
