Calls Mount for NFL Coach's Dismissal After Week 1 Loss

The night that New York Jets fans have been waiting for has come and gone as quarterback Aaron Rodgers made his highly anticipated return after suffering an Achilles tear just four plays into last season.

But the San Francisco 49ers played huge spoilers for Jets fans, beating New York with ease, 32-19. Even without Christian McCaffrey, who was ruled out just before the game, the 49ers managed to dominate the ground game, outgaining the Jets 180-68.

McCaffrey's backup, Jordan Mason, had an outstanding Week 1 as the starter, recording 28 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown.

Rodgers had an underwhelming return, completing 13-of-21 passes for 167 yards, one touchdown and one interception. However, there were moments where we saw the potential of Rodgers throwing to wide receiver Garrett Wilson, completing four passes to him on one drive.

Jets coach Robert Saleh, who enters his fourth season with the team, is facing a lot of the heat for the Jets' performance. The former 49ers defensive coordinator had his team outbattled in nearly every aspect of the game.

With many fans upset with a disappointing return for Rodgers, they started pointing fingers at Saleh, calling for his firing on social media.

"Fire Robert Saleh at all means necessary," one fan said.

In his first three seasons with New York, Saleh has failed to exceed seven wins and is yet to make the playoffs. If things don't get better throughout the season, Saleh could find himself on the hot seat.
