The NFL's elite talent was on full display during Week 1 of the 2024 regular season. This past weekend, the league's biggest stars took the field for their respective teams and delivered the excitement fans have been waiting for all offseason.

One player in particular caught the eye of former New York Jets/Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan.

During Monday morning's episode of Get Up on ESPN, Ryan didn't hesitate to name Bills quarterback Josh Allen as the best player in the NFL.

Allen finished Sunday afternoon's Week 1 win over the Arizona Cardinals with four total touchdowns — two through the air and two on the ground. He completed 18-23 passes for 232 yards, and rushed for 39 yards on nine carries.

"Josh Allen is the baddest man on the planet," Ryan said. "... My favorite player in the league. The best player in the league. I didn't say quarterback, [he's] the best player in the league.

Allen suffered an injury to his left, non-throwing hand during the Bills' 28-34 win over the Cardinals on Sunday. But after evaluation on Monday, he was cleared to play in Thursday night's Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
