Caitlin Clark Primed to Make WNBA History vs. Las Vegas Aces

Caitlin Clark is in the midst of a stellar rookie season for the Indiana Fever, averaging a league-leading 8.5 assists per game.

These mind-boggling assist numbers have the Fever rookie on pace to break yet another all-time WNBA record.

Clark currently sits at 306 assists for the 2024 season, just 11 dimes away from breaking the all-time single-season record set by Alyssa Thomas in 2023.

Each of the Fever's next two regular-season games are against the reigning WNBA-champion Las Vegas Aces. If Clark continues on her usual pace, she's certain to break the record in either of these two contests.

Clark has recorded at least 10 assists in four of her last five games. In the Fever's most recent overtime win over the Atlanta Dream, she notched 26 points and 12 assists.

Clark already has the all-time rookie record for assists in a single season, passing the 225 mark Ticha Penicheiro set in her 1998 debut season with the Sacramento Monarchs. Clark also holds the all-time single-game assist record, dropping 19 dimes in a loss to the Dallas Wings before the All-Star break.

Clark and the Fever will host the Aces on Wednesday, September 11 and Friday September 13. If Clark doesn't set the record in either of those games, she has two more regular-season games to get the job done.
