Move Over Buc-ee's. FL Getting Two New Gas Stations That Offer Much More Than Gas - Wawa & Casey's

After writing articles about Buc-ee's on Newsbreak, I have come to believe that Floridians are open-minded about shopping for items that aren't gas at gas stations. Some Floridians are more than happy to get meals or snacks at gas stations like Buc-ee's and Wawa. And now, some Floridians will have additional options, as the Villages are getting a new Wawa, and the panhandle will get a Casey's.

About Wawa In Florida: Florida got its first Wawa in 2012 in Orlando. Florida currently has around 280 Wawa locations, and it is about to open another in the Villages. According to information from Wawa itself updated in February of 2023, Florida's favorite sandwich is the Toasted Cheese Steak Classic and its favorite coffee is "light and mild."

Some Floridians have reviewed Wawa and mentioned its food. For example, a reviewer named Robert had this to say about a Florida store:

"If I am in the area and need a sub or a cup of soup, this is a decent choice of eateries. Yes, it is a gas station, but Wawa is more than that. They have a great kiosk system set up to order your food, so rarely are you waiting in line. Chicken salad sub came just as I requested, and it was enjoyable. Store was clean and employees friendly. I'd definitely come back for another lunch in the future."

The New Wawa: Construction crews are reportedly onsite at the location of a new upcoming Wawa in the Villages at the corner of County Road 466A and County Road 462. A 6,119-square-foot convenience store with 8 gas pumps is expected.

About Casey's In Florida: This is a vintage chain that began in 1968. Like Buc-ee's and Wawa, you can get more than just gas at Casey's. They are best known for its pizza which comes in various flavors and options like breakfast and taco.

Casey's recently announced the purchase of the CEFCO convenience stores for $1.145 billion. This will allow Casey's to rapidly expand in southern states like Florida.

The new Florida stores will reportedly initially be in the panhandle area.
