It’s that time of the year where college coaches are trying to flip other prospects, and they’re surely going to come after recruits on Notre Dame’s 2025 commitment list.

Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor’s JaDon Blair , the No. 121 overall prospect and No. 13 safety in the nation according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, is most likely one of those prospects.

On Sunday, his father, Jay Blair , who played college football at East Carolina and played in the professionally with the Bengals, Browns and in NFL Europe, fired out a tweet titled “Why Notre Dame.”

“When my wife and I looked at all that is to offer at the many schools and programs that offered scholarships to our son, Notre Dame stood out,” the elder Blair wrote. “Many schools talk about what their school and program are capable of but Notre Dame showed us. Our son wants to double major in business marketing and broadcasting, and the staff not only showed him their broadcasting school (tied to NBC), but brought in Mike Golic (ND Letterman) to speak with him and discuss the broadcasting world.

“As far as the Business Marketing degree, another parent of the program reached out to Tom Mendoza (Mendoza School of Business at ND), and had him call our son to discuss the school and how much he looked forward to meeting and working with him. With the prestige of the school combined with the storied history of the program, we saw a perfect fit.

“Under Marcus Freeman, Notre Dame is embarking on a journey that many programs would love to experience. He will lead Notre Dame to a national championship. The staff is immaculate and completely committed to helping each student-athlete not just reach their life goals but exceed them. As a parent of a student-athlete committed to the University of Notre Dame, should your son commit, I would like to be the first to welcome your family to ours. #Golrish #AllFight.”

Not a bad message from the father of a future Fighting Irish player coming off a brutal loss.

Notre Dame tweets of the day

    Quote of the day

”I did. I thought they did a good job. It might not look like it sometimes, but they did a good job protecting the quarterback. We gotta trust that. We gotta trust that they’re going to protect you around the edges. We gotta step up and make those throws. I thought they did a good job in the run game. There were a couple times we might have miss-ID’d somebody or they rocked back and made a play in the run game. Overall, I thought our five offensive linemen, they played better week two than they did week one.”
