GLENWOOD (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A shooting at a south suburban liquor store last night left an employee dead.

Some kind of altercation between an employee of Emporium Liquors in Glenwood and a suspect ended with the employee getting shot.

Police said it happened at about 7:15 p.m. inside the store on Glenwood Lansing Road.

Police said the suspect fired at least one shot, killing the employee.

The Cook County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 52-year-old Naveen Singh of Chicago Heights.

It’s not clear if this was part of a robbery. Members of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force were going over surveillance video from other businesses in the strip mall as part of their investigation.

Probably the same group of dudes that robbed the dispensary because an employee was also shot there. Glenwood is near the area. One of the bandits is trigger happy
