Before the San Francisco 49ers took on the New York Jets in Monday Night Football of Week 1, head coaches Kyle Shanahan and Robert Saleh shared a moment together at center field.

It's worth noting that both Shanahan and Saleh share a relationship, with the current Jets head coach serving as the 49ers tactician's defensive coordinator from 2017 until 2020. Saleh left the post in 2021 to take over the New York franchise.

That said, it's no surprise that Shanahan and the 49ers have so much respect and admiration for Saleh. San Francisco's social media team shared a video of the interaction between the two prior to the game, with Shanahan and Saleh dapping each other up and exchanging pleasantries.

Of course, fans loved the exchange between the two, with some 49ers supporters even expressing how much they missed Saleh.

"The best DC we had," a commenter shared. Another one said, "We miss you Saleh."

"Two legends," a social media user furthered.

"Robert Saleh back at Levi’s," a fourth fan chimed in.

Unfortunately for Robert Saleh, Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers prevented him from getting the win in their season opener. Even with Aaron Rodgers back and healthy, the Jets struggled and lost 32-19.

It's the only meeting between the two teams in the regular season, so Saleh will have to wait for some time before he can get his revenge.
