Luis Arraez is making headlines with an impressive performance for the San Diego Padres . The designated hitter has gone nearly an entire month without striking out, a streak that adds to his growing reputation.

In a recent game against the San Francisco Giants, Arraez went 3-for-5, contributing to the team's effort despite a narrow 7-6 loss. His current hitting average stands at .458 over the last 11 games, and he hasn't struck out since August 10. This remarkable achievement has led to 115 consecutive plate appearances without a strikeout, placing him among the top streaks in Major League Baseball since 2000.

While Arraez's streak is noteworthy, he still has a long way to go to match Tony Gwynn's franchise record of 170 plate appearances without a strikeout, set back in 1995.

Despite Arraez's efforts, the Padres faced challenges in their recent matchup. Starting pitcher Joe Musgrove struggled early, allowing the Giants to build a six-run lead. The Padres managed to rally, scoring three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth, but ultimately fell short.

Currently, the Padres hold the top Wild Card spot in the National League, but their lead has narrowed to just two games over the Braves and Mets, who are vying for the final playoff position.

As the Padres prepare for their next series against the Seattle Mariners, Arraez's ability to maintain his contact rate will be put to the test against a team that has limited opponents to the lowest batting average on balls in play in the league.
