Prince Harry's blunt six-word response on keeping Sussex titles after leaving the Royal Family

Prince Harry is said to have given a rather straightforward answer when quizzed on why he and his wife, Meghan Markle , still cling to their Royal titles post-Megxit.

It has been two years since Harry, along with his partner Meghan, decided to bid farewell to their roles as senior royals, but they've not let go of the "Sussex" label that tags along.

This has set tongues wagging among Royal commentators and admirers alike, all pondering why the Palace bigwigs haven't snatched away their noble monikers. In fact, during an interview with Anderson Cooper , Harry faced the question head-on about their decision to hang onto their ducal designations.

In promoting his explosive book "Spare" the previous year, Harry was probed on his stance about title retention, prompting him to query, "And what difference would that make?"

Adding to the interrogation, Cooper pressed: "One of the criticisms that you've received is that okay, fine, you want to move to California, you want to step back from the institutional role. Why be so public?"

He continued, nudging about the disclosure of private family discourse, "Why reveal conversations you've had with your father or with your brother? You say you tried to do this privately."

Unflinchingly, Harry asserted: "And every single time I've tried to do it privately there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife. You know, the family motto is 'never complain, never explain'. But it's just a motto. And it doesn't really hold."

Harry, who is set to hit the big 4-0 next week, no longer carries the HRH title or his military ranks following his Royal exit in 2020. Although he's still the fifth heir to the throne, with his two kids right behind as sixth and seventh, his standing with the Royal Family is tense.

It's been nearly two years since his tell-all book "Spare" dropped, and the rift with his kin, particularly his dad and bro, isn't showing signs of healing.

On the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's passing, Harry remained apart from his relatives. Weighing in on his decision, royal insider Paul Burrell said: "Why would they want to embrace him on a day which is very close to their hearts? I don't think he will [be invited to private commemorations]."

Paul adds that the Royals have circled the wagons, feeling wounded by Harry's barrage of public comments: "I think the Royal Family have pulled the drawbridge up and they are combining forces now and sticking together because they're hurt, they feel hurt by his comments in many different outlets now."

Love his "what difference does it make" answer. Harry knows what difference it makes. He uses his title every chance he gets so he can monopolize on it. To seem more important and worth the prestige and money. He knows it makes a difference.
