ESPN airing special 'Baseball Tonight' episodes

We’re down to crunch time in the MLB postseason races, and ESPN is stepping up to the plate with special coverage.

The network announced Monday it will air three Baseball Tonight Special: MLB Squeeze Play episodes in September. The whip-around show will check in on live games and offer highlights and analysis.

The first episode airs Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. (ET). It will also air on Sept. 18 and Sept. 25.

The shows will also be able to cut in for at-bats and highlights of superstars Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani’s record pursuits.

While each show will have a slightly different collection of analysts, those participating in coverage include ESPN Sunday Night Baseball play-by-play announcer Karl Ravech and analysts David Cone and Eduardo Pérez, Kevin Connors, and MLB insiders Buster Olney and Jeff Passan. ESPN sports betting analyst Tyler Fulghum will also offer betting advice on each show.

The network also announced that Baseball Tonight will air on Sept. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m., the final day of the regular season.

ESPN has also chosen its matchup for its final Sunday Night Baseball game of the season, with the New York Mets hosting the Philadelphia Phillies.
