Eminem Opening The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards

Rap God Eminem is back! He will open the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with a live performance on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 8 p m ET. The acclaimed rapper is up for eight awards from his latest studio release. Eminem will perform material off his album, ''The Death of Slim Shady'' in front of a live, packed house.

The Detroit rapper will perform his new material for the first time on television. Eminem is also nominated for eight VMA's this year, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Hip-Hop, and Song of the Summer for ''Houdini'' off the Death of Slim Shady album. If Eminem wins only one of the eight awards he's nominated for, he will then break the record set by Peter Gabriel as the most-winning male artist in the history of the Video Music Awards.

''He last performed at the show in 2022, when he and Snoop Dogg delivered their collaboration, “From the D 2 The LBC.” He also made a surprise appearance during Dr. Dre and Snoop’s VMA performance in 2012; opened the VMAs in 2010 with “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie” with Rihanna; and made his performance debut in 1999 with a double-shot of “Guilty Conscience” and “My Name Is,” as stated on Rolling Stone.
