And although undignified, tussling over a newlywed’s flowers is no new craze.

For centuries, women hoping to be the next to walk down the aisle have come to fisticuffs over the newlywed’s bouquet. The tradition, which began in the UK during the 1800s , dictates that the lucky lady who lands the flowers would marry shortly thereafter.
