The status of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was revealed on Tuesday morning, September 10, following his unexpected absence from Monday's practice due to unconfirmed reasons.

Jackson and the Ravens are coming off a heartbreaking Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, falling 27-20. Jackson appeared to throw what could have been the game-tying touchdown pass to tight end Isaiah Likely, who finished with nine receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown.

However, after a booth review, the call was overturned as Likely's foot was ruled out of bounds.

Worries grew after Jackson missed practice on Monday, and head coach John Harbaugh cryptically said that the absences were a mix of personal and injury-related reasons.

However, on Tuesday, NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo alleviated concerns, stating that Jackson is expected to play in Week 2.

"Expect Lamar Jackson to be out there," Garafolo said. "From what I understand, he's a little bit sore. He did a little bit of running the other day. It was the most rushes he's had in a game in a couple of years."

Jackson rushed 16 times for 122 yards in the loss, a workload that could easily leave a player sore.

In addition to his running, Jackson completed 26-of-41 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown but was hit 13 times on his runs and two more times, including one sack, while dropping back to pass.

As a two-time MVP, Jackson’s health is vital for the Ravens' success. Last season, he led Baltimore to a 13-4 record and secured the top seed in the AFC, helping the Ravens reach the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

His presence on the field is essential for Baltimore's playoff hopes this season.
