New Director Revealed for Spider-Man 4

Spider-Fans, we have some incredibly exciting updates out of an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter that reveals some tidbits of what's to come from Spider-Man 4 – including a shift in director.

Jon Watts, director of the first three Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, will not return, and instead Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' , Destin Daniel Cretton, will take the helm.

Spider-Man 4 will be a co-production between Marvel Studios and Sony, and will be the second Marvel outing for Cretton following his success with Shang Chi .

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers will return to pen the screenplay, with Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal as producers.

A bonus piece of info for fans is that production is eyeing an early 2025 shoot, meaning Spider-Man 4 is on the way even if there is no official release date as of yet.

Tom Holland spoke to Deadline about Spider-Man's next chapter earlier this year, saying he "[owes his] life and career to Spider-Man " and said they "have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be."
