Rumor: David Corenswet’s Superman To Be the ‘Exact Opposite’ of Henry Cavill

A new rumor about David Corenswet ‘s version of Superman has suggested that his version of the hero will be very different than Henry Cavill ‘s portrayal of Superman from Zack Snyder’s 2013 movie Man of Steel . With James Gunn’s Superman set to hit theaters in 2025, many fans have been excited to see how the visionary director has decided to portray the Kryptonian on the big screen. David Corenswet’s Superman rumored to be very different from Man of Steel

In June 2023, David Corenswet was cast as the new Superman for DC’s rebooted movie universe. However, memories of Henry Cavill as the character are still fresh in the minds of many fans. Cavill last appeared on screen as the character in a cameo appearance in the 2022 movie Black Adam in a scene that teased future appearances that now seem impossible to realize.

Recently, as reported by ComicBookMovie.com , scooper David Richtman made some claims regarding David Corenswet’s version of Superman. In a post, Richtman claimed that the new Superman will be “a complete shift to hardcore sci-fi and fantasy, the exact opposite of Man of Steel. It’s set in a world very different from ours and far removed from the DCEU.” Richtman further added, “Heroes have been around for ages, and we’ll see how it affected this world’s history and has shaped the DCU. The DCU will feature various projects set across different timelines, not just present day. So more in line with the approach of Star Wars than Marvel.”

However, fans need to bear in mind that these claims haven’t yet been verified by anyone associated with 2025 Superman and are currently only rumors.

Alongside David Corenswet in the role of Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan will portray Lois Lane in the upcoming movie, which is scheduled to release in July 2025.
