Jennifer Lopez 'enjoyed spending time' with ex's friend Matt Damon as Ben Affleck swerved premiere

Jennifer Lopez shared a moment with her ex's best friend, Matt Damon .

The singer and actress filed for divorce from Ben Affleck . Jennifer and Matt were seen at the afterparty for their new movie Unstoppable at the Toronto International Film Festival. Both Matt and Ben are producers to the film, while Jennifer plays a supporting role . Unstoppable follows Anthony Robles, a man who was born without a leg and becomes a professional wrestler.

Despite Ben not being at the premiere , Matt showed up to support the film and Jennifer. Matt and Ben have been friends since they were 10 years old and grew up together in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

At the afterparty, Jennifer was seen sitting next to Matt and held his hand, as they shared a moment of laughter. A source told PEOPLE that the singer is "very close with Matt" and "enjoyed spending time" with him. They also revealed that Jennifer was sitting a table outside with the actor's wife Luciana Damon and costar Don Cheadle when Matt joined.

Jennifer walked the red carpet in a Tamara Ralph dress, which was accessorized with Hassanzadeh jewelry. The ensemble revealed some skin on both her sides as the silver embellished outfit had slits. Thick black strings of fabric tied into bows kept the sides of her dress closed.

Ben and Jennifer managed to work on the project together until it was finished despite their separation. In March 2023, Ben told CBS Sunday Mornings: "What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend. If you don't like who you're working with, and if you have difficulty or trouble at work, I think it's one of the things that can really cause depression, anxiety and pain for people."

The Get Right singer filed for divorce from the actor on Tuesday, August 20, in a Los Angeles County Superior Court and filed "pro per", which means she filed by herself and without an attorney. They rekindled their love in July 2021 after dating back in 2002 to 2004. They later tied the knot in 2022 in Las Vegas.
