Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams didn’t hold back on Tuesday morning, September 10, when asked about his former teammate Aaron Rodgers' 2024 debut with the New York Jets during their Monday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite not having played with Rodgers since the 2021 season, Adams and Rodgers formed one of the most lethal connections in the NFL during Adams’ eight seasons in Green Bay.

In 2018, Adams eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career, racking up 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns. By 2020, he had become Rodgers’ go-to target, leading the league in receiving touchdowns with 18, catching 115 passes, and gaining over 1,300 yards—all of which earned Adams First-Team All-Pro honors.

Adams’ admiration for Rodgers hasn’t faded, and after watching his former quarterback in action again, Adams had nothing but praise for his performance.

"He looked really good to me," Adams said on " Kay Adams ' Up and Adams Show ". "For him having missed the whole year of competitive football, I think he looked pretty good out there."

Rodgers went 13-of-21 for 167 yards , one touchdown, and one interception in the game. He had one of his signature "Rodgers" moments, connecting with former Packers teammate Allen Lazard on a 36-yard touchdown pass during a free play when Leonard Floyd jumped offsides.

Adams, who has witnessed Rodgers capitalize on countless free plays, reflected on the play with a smile.

"Well, the first thing for sure is when that defensive lineman came, you would've seen a pissed-off Aaron Rodgers had they blown the play dead," Adams joked.

During their time together in Green Bay , Adams made six Pro Bowls, three First-Team All-Pro selections, and amassed 622 receptions for 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns in 108 games.

"I think everyone has a little rust in Week 1," Adams added, acknowledging that while Rodgers may not have been perfect, he's still extremely good.

Even though Adams is now in Las Vegas and Rodgers in New York, the bond they share on the field is still strong, with Adams continuing to have his former quarterback’s back, no matter the distance.
