The wins keep coming for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, this one off the field.

Monday night, Omaha Westside linebacker Christian Jones announced his commitment to the Big Red.

Jones, rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports, instantly becomes the program’s highest-rated commit in the 2025 class. He’s rated as the top high school recruit in Nebraska, the 19th-best linebacker in the country and the 161st-best prep player overall in 2025, according to the 247Sports Composite.

He’s Nebraska’s 19th commit so far in that cycle and also their first linebacker.

With Jones in the fold, Nebraska’s 2025 recruiting class is now ranked 26th in the country by 247Sports and 10th in the Big Ten. However, the Huskers now have seven four-star recruits in the 2025 class, seventh-most in the conference.

It’s yet another sign that Matt Rhule and his staff have the Huskers headed in the right direction and recruits are noticing.

On the field, the team will face Northern Iowa as Nebraska looks for its first 3-0 start since 2016 — Mike Riley’s second season, when the Big Red started 7-0. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 6:30 p.m.
