Ryan Day speaks out on former Ohio State QB Kyle McCord after his hot start at Syracuse

There could be some jealousy amongst the Ohio State Buckeyes as they see former quarterback Kyle McCord leading the nation in passing yards and touchdowns. Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day was asked about what it's like to see McCord thriving with Syracuse.

Ohio State's 2023 starting quarterback has nothing but a fan and supporter in Day, despite the opportunity for the Buckeyes head coach having the chance to take a shot or question what the difference in McCord has been.

"It looks like he's doing a great job. ... Happy to see him doing well so far this season."

Day added McCord "poured a lot into" being a Buckeye quarterback and appreciated how hard he worked in his three seasons with the program.

We recently pondered as to whether the Buckeyes made a mistake in going with Will Howard instead of keeping McCord. However, regardless of how this plays out, it's hard not to appreciate the Buckeyes continuing to support a player who spent a lot of time as a backup before doing his best when he got the chance to play.
