One Palm Beach County municipality is searching for a new police chief.

Jupiter Police Chief David England announced his retirement yesterday after serving three and a half years as the leader of the department.

England has been with the Jupiter PD for nearly 30 years, moving up in the ranks from field training officer to SWAT team commander, to captain then deputy chief before his promotion to Chief of Police in February of 2021.

England, who retires from the force at the end of October, says in a statement that he is extremely proud of the men and women of the Jupiter Police Department and believes they truly provide the finest law enforcement services.

The town has not said who would take over for England, but officials are expected to reveal their plans in the coming weeks.
