    Local State of Emergency Declared in Ocean Springs

    Ocean Springs has declared a local state of emergency in anticipation of Tropical Storm Francine, according to a press release from the City of Ocean Springs.

    Sand and sandbags were made available at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Ocean Springs Public Works and at the Fire Station.

    Ocean Spring Public Works is located at 723 Pine Drive. The Fire Station is located at 3901 Highway 57 South.

    All sand and sandbags will remain available for self-service until the supply is taken. Residents who seek sand and sandbags are encouraged to bring their own shovel, according to the press release.

    Those with questions should contact Public Works at 228.875.3955. Residents are encouraged to remain mindful of the weather and prepare for potential damage. The City and the Ocean Springs Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Francine.
