Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could cost $100 more than the S23 FE

At this point, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is no stranger to leaks. The device has been leaking like clockwork for the past few months, and we know the specs, most of the colors , and what the device will look like.

The price was the only unknown factor that remained, and we expected it to remain the same as the S23 FE, as the previous leaks suggest this year’s Galaxy FE is not getting much of an upgrade.

Sorry to disappoint, but the latest leak from WinFuture suggests that Samsung’s “more affordable” flagship may no longer be affordable.

A $100 price hike may cost Galaxy S24 FE its “affordable” moniker

According to WinFuture , the Galaxy S24 FE will cost as much as €100 more this year, which could translate to a $100 price hike in the US, taking the price to $699.

No matter how you look at a $700 phone, it isn’t affordable.

Last year’s Galaxy S23 FE was launched at $599; in our opinion, that is the boundary an affordable phone shouldn’t cross if it wants to stay affordable.

What is more off-putting is that, based on the leaks, the Galaxy S24 FE isn’t getting much of an upgrade. It will not pack higher RAM or storage; you will still have to deal with 128GB of internal storage with the base variant.

The only thing is that the handset is rumored to get slightly larger and pack a slightly larger battery, but does that justify a $100 bump in price?

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE rumored specs

According to rumors, the Galaxy S24 FE may have a larger 6.7-inch screen than last year’s S23 FE’s 6.4-inch. In terms of size, it is as big as the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s screen.

Based on the region, the Galaxy S24 FE may feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or a tweaked variant of the Exynos 2400 chip.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the Exynos 2400 are some of the most powerful chip features on the flagship Galaxy S24 series.

Although rumors state Samsung may use a tweaked version of the Exynos 2400 chip, the Exynos 2400e, on the S24 FE, according to WinFuture, the chip has a 100MHz lower clock speed than the regular Exynos 2400 featured on the S24 series.

In hindsight, the same could be true for the Galaxy S24 FE’s Snapdragon variant that will come to the US. Samsung may use the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, the latter of which has a 100MHz lower CPU and GPU clock speed.

Meanwhile, the camera setup will remain unchanged. It will be the same as last year’s Galaxy FE model, and the same goes for the wired and wireless charging speeds .

If the latest leak is accurate, Samsung will have difficulty justifying a $100 price hike with all these minor upgrades.

So, let’s just wait and see what happens. The launch is rumored for October, and we are almost there.
