Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl reveals he cheated on his wife, welcomed baby ‘outside’ of his marriage

Dave Grohl has a confession to make.

The Foo Fighters frontman has welcomed a child “outside” of his marriage and is fighting to “regain” the trust of his wife Jordyn Blum and other children.

The rock legend made the stunning revelation in an Instagram post Tuesday.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

He added, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

A rep for Grohl told The Post that there was no additional comment from the musician.

The former Nirvana drummer, 55, met Blum, 48, at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in LA in 2001 .

Speaking with Q magazine in 2007, Grohl recalled seeing the former model and MTV producer for the first time and thinking, “Oh, my God. Not a chance!”

He ultimately made a move, with the help of some liquid courage. “By the end of the night I was pissed and I’m staring at her going, ‘You’re my future ex-wife,’ ” he said. “So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.’ ”

Despite thinking Blum was a total bombshell when they met, he later admitted that he ghosted her shortly after their courtship began.

“When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling,” he confessed in a 2007 interview with ELLE .

But Blum stayed on his mind. “After three months, I had a revelation and called her back,” he added. Blum was shocked to hear the rocker’s voice on the other end of the phone, telling him, “’Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.’”

The pair went on to say “I do” Aug. 2, 2003, in a private ceremony at their LA home. The guest list included A-list names such as Clive Davis and and Grohl’s former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic.

The marriage was Blum’s first and Grohl’s second. The star had been married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood. They divorced in 1997.

Grohl and Blum welcomed their first child, a daughter, Violet Maye,18, in 2006. The pair have two other daughters, Harper Willow, 15, who was born in 2009, and Ophelia Saint, 10, in 2014.

The couple were seen at Wimbledon in July, sitting inside the royal box along with other celebrities such as David Beckham.

The family, who seldom make public appearances together, also stepped out at the 2023 Grammys and posed on the red carpet.

Blum has been private about her marriage to Grohl over the years.

The rock star, meanwhile, gushed about his family in 2007.

“Jordyn and Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing,” Grohl told the Guardian at the time.

Grohl also looked at his career choices in a different light after having kids.

“I used to tour nine months out of the year. Now I don’t like being away from my kids for more than 12 days,” he said in an interview with Time .

“It’s changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.”

Though by and large eschewing the limelight since her marriage to Grohl, Blum has been involved in a handful of Foo Fighters projects over the years. She appeared in the music video for the band’s track “White Limo” off their 2011 album “Wasting Light,” and co-directed their 2002 “Walking a Line” video. She was even described as the band’s official “documentarian” in a 2003 NME article.

Blum has also been a muse for Grohl. The Grammy winner shared that the Foo Fighters’ song “Statues,” – from their sixth studio album “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace” – was penned for her while speaking with GQ in 2008.

“That song is about my wife and me,” he revealed. “To me there’s nothing more beautiful than seeing the headstones of a husband and wife side by side in a graveyard.”

The 2002 song “Burn Away” also holds special meaning. “I was in love with my future wife and had some romantic … prom ballad,” he told the A.V. Club in 2006.
