Constructed in 1888, the Bayly Orem House became the residence of an elderly woman who lived there with her beloved feline companion. As she aged, she became quite set in her ways, refusing to let anyone enter the front parlor, which she kept meticulously clean and dusted. Her peculiar habits only added to the house's mysterious aura.

Tragically, one day the old lady fell down the stairs and was unable to call for help. In a remarkable act of loyalty, her devoted cat ventured outside to alert the neighbors. Sadly, help arrived too late, and the lady passed away from her injuries at the foot of the stairs.

Her family decided to lay her body in the front parlor, believing it was the most fitting room in the house. However, when they returned the next day to prepare for the funeral, they discovered that the door to the parlor was locked. Strangely, the key was nowhere to be found, and relatives didn’t even remember there being one.

With no other choice, the family broke down the door. To their astonishment, they found the key lying next to the casket, with the old lady's cat peacefully purring beside it. This bizarre occurrence only deepened the house's haunted reputation.

Today, the Bayly Orem House has been converted into apartments, but many believe that the ghostly presence remains. A tenant who lived in what was once the front parlor reported unsettling experiences, such as books mysteriously falling from shelves and lights flickering on and off. The faint sound of laughter has also been heard, suggesting that the spirit of the old lady still watches over her beloved home.

Residents have experienced flickering lights, moving objects, and the sound of ghostly laughter echoing through the halls when no one is around.
