Taron Johnson has been considered one of the top slot cornerbacks in the NFL.

Last season, the Buffalo Bills' top corner was a second-team All-Pro player and signed a three-year extension with the team that kept him in Buffalo through 2027.

Now, though, the Bills top player in the secondary might be heading to injured reserve.

During the team's 34-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Johnson injured his forearm during the first defensive series. His absence was felt almost immediately due to the organization falling behind 17-3 at one point in the first quarter.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott explained that Johnson could end up being lost for the next four weeks if necessary on IR.

“We’re kind of seeing what the options are at this point and just trying to make the right decision,” McDermott told reporters.

The Bills have already gone through a series of key injuries on the defense with linebacker Matt Milano suffering a torn biceps injury during training camp practice in August.

With Milano and now Johnson out, the top veteran on the team will be defensive linemen Greg Rousseau, Von Miller, and Ed Oliver.

Either way, not the kind of injury you want to see when you play an elite offense like the Miami Dolphins on Thursday.
