CENTER CITY (KYW Newsradio) — One man was left injured after authorities say a fight ended with gunshots on the 15th and Market El platform on Tuesday afternoon.

SEPTA said the fight happened just before 3:30 in the afternoon as a group of men began brawling on the platform. They say one of those men pulled a gun and began firing in the scrum.

A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times and taken to Jefferson Hospital where police say he is in stable condition and remains in their custody.

Authorities said one male is in custody following the shooting, and a weapon was recovered, but they continue to investigate.

SEPTA briefly stopped service in both directions in the afternoon when the investigation began.

Police encourage anyone with information to contact the Philadelphia Police Department's Shooting Investigations Group at 215-686-8270 or call or text its anonymous tip line at 215-686-TIPS.
