Sources: Rumson burglary suspects may face additional charges for incidents in Howell

More charges may soon be filed against two burglary suspects who were involved in a police shooting in Rumson last week. Sources tell News 12 that the two suspects – 20-year-old Rasheen Yarbrough, of Missouri and 27-year-old Nnamdi Atumudo, of Irvington - match the descriptions of two men seen earlier that same morning on security video breaking into vehicles in Howell Township. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the scene unfolded just before 5 a.m. on Woodmere Drive and Avenue of Two Rivers in Rumson. According to police records, 20-year-old Rasheen Yarbrough, of Missouri and 27-year-old Nnamdi Atumudo, of Irvington, first tried breaking into homes and vehicles on Woodmere Drive. A neighbor called police, according to court documents, and during the response, a Fair Haven officer saw a blue Chrysler, driven by Yarbrough coming at him on Avenue of Two Rivers, and despite orders, failed to stop. The officer shot at the car, which crashed near the intersection of Rumson Road. Police recovered a stolen child's electric bike in the backseat of the Chrysler. Court documents say both men were seen on security video trying to break into homes and vehicles on those two streets. Hours earlier, police sources confirmed two suspects attempted to break into vehicles in the Glen Arden section of Howell Township. News 12 has confirmed through sources the two men seen in security video from Howell match the descriptions of those in the Rumson videos. According to New Jersey Department of Corrections records, Atumudo had just been released from jail at the end of June following a Bayonne robbery conviction dating back to 2020. The two men are now at the Monmouth County Jail, being held on burglary and theft charges. A detention hearing for both suspects has been scheduled for Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. "
