Denver Broncos' Bo Nix chastised for week one performance by NFL.com

It is incredibly hard to be successful in the National Football League. Making a roster spot is never guaranteed, and even if a player makes the squad, competing for playing time and avoiding injuries makes it that much more difficult. Add in being a rookie, and no one truly expects you to be a 'top guy'.

However, when it comes to Denver Broncos ' quarterback Bo Nix, some media members still find a way to criticize Nix's performance despite all of the odds stacked against him.

In a recent article conducted by 'NFL.com' lead draft writer Eric Edholm gave the ' NFL Power Rankings ' heading into week two, and when highlighting the Broncos' week one performance, had this to say regarding the rookie quarterback:

...[Nix] certainly struggled, throwing a first-half interception near the end zone, then was picked a second time late, throwing into a crowd. (And he could have had at least two more INTs before halftime.) It wasn't pretty. Nix did find some rhythm before the last pick, when Denver went shotgun and tempo, which is what he's used to, but the whole product isn't there yet. Up next: Pittsburgh, which made Kirk Cousins shrink in his Atlanta debut Week 1. Sean Payton will have his work cut out for him with his game plan for Sunday.

While it is true that Nix did not play well for his first career game, it was in fact his first-ever career game. NFL fans were accustomed to seeing a Bo Nix that went 3-0 in the preseason with a completion percentage of 72%, and when they didn't see those numbers transfer over, people became disappointed.

As former Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning said , "he will have rookie struggles because the game is that hard". Nix will make mistakes and it will take time to get a groove going. While it is extremely unfair for people to point the finger at Nix for the Seattle loss , being the quarterback of an NFL team usually comes with receiving lots of unfortunate criticism.
