    Graduate of Suffolk County Treatment Center helps others struggling with addiction

    Lisa Callister is a graduate of Suffolk County Treatment Court. Suffolk County Treatment Court Part 1 She’s been sober for more than two years after struggling with drug addiction for a long time. Her mother, Roseann Callister, said things were so bad that she'd wanted to “disown” her daughter. Callister said she was kicked out of the house on multiple occasions and remembers "living" on the bathroom floor with a needle in her neck while her boyfriend at the time "stepped over" her. She credits Suffolk County Treatment Court with changing her life. Judge F. Scott Carrigan said Lisa always had a positive outlook and was always looking forward. She showed up in court regularly, and always with a smile, despite battling serious health issues. “I struggled in silence for so long, that I’m going to recover out loud," says Callister. She is now a sponsor to two people and said she wants to help others struggling with addiction. "
