    Pontotoc Vo-Tech Locked Down Over Stolen Truck & Possible Armed Suspect

    A situation involving a stolen truck caused a lock down at Pontotoc Ridge Vo-Tech on Tuesday. Officals say that because of the proximity of the location of the situation to the Vo-Tech, law enforcement contacted school officials.

    A police report was filed with Pontotoc Police Department stating that a truck had been stolen overnight from a parking lot in Pontotoc. Later, the owner of the truck called the police and stated that the truck had been discovered at a gas pump at Circle K gas station on Highway 15 North.

    An unidentified blad man was with the truck and the owner stated that the man was in possession of a weapon and had fled.

    However, officers later discovered that a gun hadn't been seen when the owner confronted the suspect. Officers were not able to locate the suspect.

    The Pontotoc Police Department stated the following on their Facebook regarding the incident:

    "Contrary to several posts to social media there have been no robberies or gun play at any location in the city of Pontotoc. At no time did law enforcement feel that there was a direct threat to any school or business."
