Louisiana authorities have ordered the closure of several state parks ahead of the approaching severe weather from Tropical Storm Francine.

According to a news release Tuesday from Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, the following state parks will remain closed through Thursday:

    • Bayou Segnette in Westwego
    • Bogue Chitto in Franklinton
    • Cypremort Point in Cypremort Point
    • Fairview-Riverside in Madisonville
    • Fontainebleau in Mandeville
    • Grand Isle in Grand Isle
    • Lake Fausse Pointe in St. Martinville
    • Palmetto Island in Abbeville
    • St. Bernard in Braithwaite
    • Tickfaw in Springfield

All reservations during the closure period are canceled, and guests with reservations will be notified regarding their options, the news release said.

Once the severe weather threat has passed and park staff assess any storm damage, they will provide updates on reopening.
