The Week 2 slate had some disappointing games for certain fanbases. The Alabama Crimson Tide struggled for most of the game against the USF Bulls, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost to Northern Illinois, the Texas Longhorns blew out the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor, and the Penn State Nittany Lions narrowly escaped an upset with Bowling Green.

The Colorado Buffaloes were among the teams with disappointing outcomes in Week 2. Colorado lost 28-10 to the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lincoln. Shedeur Sanders was sacked six times in the loss.

Pete Thamel discussed the loss on a recent " College GameDay Podcast " episode. He questioned where Colorado goes after a loss like that. Thamel said that although the game ended 28-10, it should have ended 48-10, given how dominant Nebraska was.

Thamel stated that Colorado "laid a dinosaur egg" in Week 2.

"...That was like, why did it end up 28-10?" Thamel pondered."That felt more like 48-10. They were just kind of taking the air out of the ball in the second half at Nebraska. So, it will be very interesting to see where Colorado goes from here. But they laid a dinosaur egg in Lincoln. There's no other way to say it."

Last season, Colorado came out on top in Boulder 36-14. Nebraska snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the Buffaloes this season. The Buffaloes have not been to a bowl game since 2020.

Colorado can redeem itself against the Colorado State Rams in Week 3. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
