The Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) will be holding a virtual employment workshop on Thursday, September 12 from 11 AM to 1 PM CT. You will be able to listen to a DCFS recruiter talk about the positions that are open throughout the entire state of Illinois along with how to apply for one of these positions. You will then be able to ask questions after the presentation is completed.

The unfortunate reason as to why the Illinois DCFS needs more workers at this time is due to the state of Illinois being #4 in the USA in regards to the child abuse with around 20,000 new cases per year. The high-case workload means that these open positions need to be filled by someone like you.

The positions that are opened within the DCFS are child protection specialists, child welfare specialists, Spanish-speaking child protection specialists, Spanish-speaking child welfare specialists, and office associates.

At this time, there are over 35 job openings in the DCFS in cities like Chicago, Deerfield, Springfield, Rockford, Joliet, East St. Louis, DeKalb, Naperville, Elgin, Marion, Lincoln, Mount Vernon, Bourbonnais, Maywood, Waukegan, Collinsville, Champaign, Galesburg, and Aurora.

This virtual job fair is free of charge to be a part of on Thursday, but you will have to register at this link provided by Illinois DCFS. You will have to enter your name, your email address, and your place of residence. You will also be asked if you are a military veteran. Some of these situations that DCFS workers must put themselves in are very hostile. Knowing how to defend yourself will increase your odds of securing one of these positions.

After registering, a link for the virtual presentation will be sent to your email address. You will be able to login early on Thursday at 10:45 AM.

They won't tell the applicants that the life expectancy is only eight months at this job.
