Pascal Siakam Rank in Top 100?

Pascal Siakam aided the Indiana Pacers to their first Eastern Conference Finals berth since 2014. Although Tyrese Haliburton is the team's undisputed best player, Siakam's success coincides with the Pacers'. HoopsHype released a top-100 list, ranking players where they deemed fit. According to the website, where did Siakam rank among some of the best players in the NBA?

Before discussing Siakam's rank, it's worth noting that the Cameroon native has two All-Star selections to his name. Siakam recently made the All-Star game for the 2023-23 season, representing the Toronto Raptors.

Last season, Siakam played an impressive 80 games, averaging 21.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.

According to Synergy Sports, Siakam finished as an average defender for the regular season and postseason, all with the Pacers. However, Siakam's offense merits high praise. Even though he's a below-average 3-point shooter, Siakam's grade on offense ranks as "excellent," primarily due to his post-up game, transition offense, and pick-and-roll sequences in which he's the ball-handler.

With all that said, Siakam's ranking from HoopsHype suggests Siakam is a fringe All-Star. Siakam received the No. 25 spot out of a top 100 list.

An All-Star roster holds 12 players, theoretically leaving Siakam to fight for the last spot.

Admittedly, such rankings don't affect the final decision. However, considering the Pacers' finish in the 2024 NBA playoffs, perhaps Siakam should rank higher.

Nonetheless, landing in the top 25 on a list of 100 is nothing for which to scoff. Moreover, Siakam, with a training camp led by Rick Carlisle, will entrench the borderline All-Star deeper into the Pacers' elite offense.
