Entergy Louisiana is gearing up for the possible impact of Hurricane Francine, which could bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, and widespread power outages to the region.

Vice President of Customer Service Michelle Bourg says Entergy is closely monitoring the storm’s path and preparing its crews and resources to respond quickly to any damage caused by the hurricane.

“We’ve been monitoring ever since it was an area of disturbed weather, and really picked up in our monitoring over the weekend, and we are ready to respond for whatever Francine may bring our way,” said Bourg.

This preparation includes staging equipment, coordinating with local agencies, and ensuring that restoration efforts can begin as soon as conditions are safe.

“Preparing for tropical disturbances like this, this is a year round thing for us.  As soon as the storm passes we are going to be in position to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible,” he said.

Bourg is urging customers to prepare for the storm by updating their contact information with Entergy so they can be updated on the status of power restoration.  Bourg suggests going to Entergy-dot-com and signing up for text notifications.

“Go on ahead and sign up for text message notification if you’ve not already done so,” Bourg said.

Cleco Power has also added personnel as well as 1,700 additional contractor resources in preparation for Francine.
