    Easy Maple-Bourbon Glazed Salmon

Salmon is one of my favorite fishes to eat. I have prepared it so many different ways. This maple-bourbon glaze is one of my favorites though. You can adjust ingredients as you like. Although optional, I like to make the glaze a bit thicker and serve over rice. Here's what you'll need to make 1 lb of salmon:

    Ingredients:

    • 1 lb salmon skinned and cut into filets
    • Salt and pepper
    • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
    • 2 Tablespoons dijon mustard
    • 2 Tablespoons jalapeno, seeds removed and finely chopped
    • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
    • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
    • 2 Tbl honey bourbon, optional
    • Sesame seeds, optional

Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and season it generously with salt and pepper. Set it aside.

In a bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, mustard, jalapeño, garlic, paprika, and honey bourbon until well combined.

Place a 10-inch (oven - safe) skillet over medium heat and add the maple mixture. Heat the sauce for 1-2 minutes, or until it’s warmed through.

Next, add the salmon to the pan, placing it skinned side down. Use a spoon to periodically baste the salmon with the maple sauce as it cooks.

When the salmon is almost fully cooked (about 6 minutes), transfer the skillet to the broiler.
Broil the salmon until it is fully cooked and easily flakes with a fork. For a thicker glaze, remove the skillet from the broiler after 1-2 minutes, ladle more sauce over the salmon, and return it to the oven.

Top with sesame seeds if desired and serve immediately with side dishes of your choice. Enjoy!
