Fans in Disbelief Over Caitlin Clark After Sabrina Ionescu’s Big Game

On Tuesday night, Sabrina Ionescu and the first-placed New York Liberty defeated the Dallas Wings 105-91 to secure their league-leading 30th win of the season. The Liberty have now won four straight and are on the verge of clinching the top seed in the WNBA playoffs.

Ionescu had one of her better playmaking nights of the season, scoring 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting and 4-of-6 from three and dishing out 11 assists.

According to StatMamba on X, this marked the former Oregon Ducks star's 12th double-double with points and assists of her career, tying Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark for the ninth most in league history.

Yes, you read that right. Ionescu, who has been in the league since 2020, has now tied Clark, a rookie. This is just another example of the greatness that Clark has brought to the WNBA.

For Ionescu, it took her 138 games to reach this number of points and assists double-doubles, but for Clark, the 2024 No. 1 pick, it only took 36.

WNBA fans were surprised that Ionescu has only tied Clark with these stats, taking to social media to leave their thoughts and to appreciate Clark's excellence.

She is widely considered one of the best players in the league, which makes her tying Clark that much crazier.
