MSNBC Hosts Declare Kamala Harris Debate ‘Best Performance’ in History — Because Trump ‘Couldn’t Control His Mind’

After the ABC Presidential Debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump on Tuesday, MSNBC’s post-debate analysis panelists all emphatically agreed with one another that Harris delivered what “may very well be the best televised debate performance ever.”

MSNBC’s liberal pundit line-up came together on Thursday to offer their analysis that the Democrat won the debate and the Republican did not. The panel consisting of Nicolle Wallace, Joy Reid, Chris Hayes, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Rachel Maddow was duly impressed with how Harris handled Trump, as compared to others who have debated him in the past.

After Reid explained that the faces Harris was making while Trump was talking were devastating and expressed “pity” for him, she said that Trump’s biggest problem was the inability to control his own mind.

“And you don’t want a president of the United States that is not in full control of his mind,” said Reid.

Hayes then said he felt it was “by far the best debate performance against Donald Trump ever by anyone,” but before he could continue was one-upped by O’Donnell.

“It may very well be the best televised debate performance ever,” he said, to which several panelists then expressed their agreement.

“I thought it was exceptional. I thought it’s the best anyone’s ever done against him. Both Republicans in Republican primaries in those big group brawls and one-on-one,” Hayes said, adding the caveat that he also felt that former nominees Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden “acquitted themselves well against him.”

It was President Biden’s debate performance against Trump that started the dominos leading to his being replaced on the ticket, and Harris being on the stage for Tuesday’s debate, it’s worth noting.

REID: Donald Trump got destroyed in this debate because he can’t control his mind. And you don’t want a president of the United States that is not in full control of his mind.

HAYES: It was by far the best debate performance against Donald Trump ever by anyone, I think. Including . . .

O’DONNELL: You know, just quick parentheses. It may very well be the best televised debate performance ever.

HAYES: Yeah.

REID: I agree.

O’DONNELL: I can’t think of a better one.

REID: I agree.

HAYES: I thought it was exceptional. I thought it’s the best anyone’s ever done against him. Both Republicans in Republican primaries in those big group brawls and one-on-one, even though I think both Biden and Hillary acquitted themselves well against him.
