Watching Sunday’s broadcast of the Dallas Cowboys’ 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns, few would have guessed that Fox sideline reporter Erin Andrews was going through it in the days leading up to NFL opening weekend.

Though all eyes were on play-by-play commentator Kevin Burkhardt and color analyst Tom Brady, who was making his broadcast debut, Andrews recently admitted on her “Calm Down” podcast to co-host Charissa Thompson that she was dealing with a lot of behind-the-scenes struggles in her personal life leading up to the game.

“It was a lot because it’s Week 1 and for some reason — I was talking to my dad, I was talking to you (Thompson), you were picking me up off the floor — just have a lot going on, I have a lot going on,” Andrews stated. “For some reason, I didn’t feel like Stella had her groove. I will tell you this, I was really struggling in the confidence area of the show.

“Just dealing with a lot of stuff going on with [my son Mack], our house — our air conditioner crapped the bed the night before the game. [It’s] 80 degrees inside our house and I’ve got a baby and a dog, it was just a lot.”

Andrews, who’s been with Fox Sports since 2012, admitted that she was worried about repeating a mistake from a practice run she had with Burkhardt and Brady during rehearsal in which they practiced transitioning from the main broadcasters to the sideline reporters.

“We were doing a quick rehearsal with Tom because we hadn’t done it before where they throw it down to me,” Andrews recalled. “…I completely butchered the s–t out of my open and I go, ‘See Tom Brady, you’re not the only one that struggles sometimes.’ Not that he was struggling, but was trying to make him feel better.”
