The Cat-1 hurricane Francine is moving toward the northeast near 10 mph. The National Hurricane Center anticipates it to make landfall in Louisiana within the warning area this afternoon or evening.

After landfall, the center is expected to move northward across Mississippi on Thursday and Thursday night.

Maximum sustained winds are near 90 mph. Francine's impact will be felt in the Panhandle.

The National Weather Service has a Flood Watch in effect through tomorrow afternoon in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Also, a Coastal Flood Watch will go into effect early tomorrow morning in Bay, Walton and Gulf counties.
